Toshiba Thrive Honeycomb 3.1 Tablet PC Is Well Prepared to Thrive

The mysterious Toshiba tablet PC will run on the Android Honeycomb OS way back in CES 2011 in January. The Tablet PC is already at fever pitch. Toshiba is obviously a well-respected name in computing, and ever since they announced tablet plans late in 2010, tablet shoppers have been wondering What, When, How Much and Why.
The Toshiba Thrive was released as the name for the highly anticipated tablet PC. The tablet will be released “mid June.” There are 3 different models: an 8GB version ,the 16GB model and a whopping 32GB. The Toshiba Thrive is going to run the latest Android Honeycomb OS, version 3.1. That means full Adobe Flash player support and Android Market access to over 1 million Droid apps and games for instant download. And Toshiba said that instead of attempting to create the lightest or thinnest tablet, they wanted to make the Thrive the “most usable” tablet by all types of tablet shoppers.

The Thrive will come with a 10.1 inch backlit display that offers a crystal clear and much better than tablet-average 1280 x 800 resolution. And wisely going with the best-performing, hottest processor around, the Thrive packs a big punch with the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core 1GHz processor with 1 full GB of RAM. One really exciting feature, as if those weren’t enough already, is the new video-enhancement technology on board.
The tablet android PC’s Adaptive Display and Resolution+ video software which makes average video upgrade to a near-HD experience. This will certainly be a hit with web surfers and Netflix fans. Physically, the back plate is removable for a quick battery swap, and is customizable to Pink, Lavender, Navy, Green, and standard Silver and Black to suit your mood or style.
A full sized USB 2.0 port is nice, and HDMI, mini USB, dual 5 mp and 2 mp cameras and Need For Speed: Shift are all on board to make for a nice feature set overall. To be originally offered in Wifi only, the retail at 16 GB is less than the Apple iPad 2, and Toshiba hopes that is enough “Why” to come into the market June 13.
